Teja S17 dried red chillies — high-heat export grade from Andhra Pradesh

Guntur Teja S17 Chilli Powder

Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, India

Teja S17 is the highest-pungency variety in the Indian export trade, grown across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. At 50,000–100,000 SHU, it delivers intense, sharp heat that is valued across hot sauce manufacturing, oleoresin extraction, and any application requiring maximum capsaicin yield.

Unlike Sannam, Teja is selected primarily for its pungency rather than colour. It is the dominant feedstock for capsaicin concentrate production and is widely blended with high-colour varieties such as Byadagi or Kashmiri to achieve custom SHU and ASTA targets in finished spice blends. Buyers requiring verified capsaicin content for pharmaceutical or nutraceutical applications typically specify Teja.

Applications

  • Hot sauce and sriracha manufacturing — primary high-SHU feedstock
  • Capsaicin oleoresin extraction for pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals
  • Spicy snack seasoning and ready-to-eat food manufacturing
  • Blending with high-colour varieties (Byadagi, Kashmiri) to achieve custom SHU + ASTA targets
  • Industrial food processing requiring precise, high capsaicin content
