About Primora Exim

Primora Exim is an Indian export company specialising in premium-grade chilli powder sourced from India's GI-registered growing regions — Karnataka for Byadagi, the Kashmir Valley for Kashmiri, and Andhra Pradesh for Guntur Sannam and Teja S17.

We supply food importers, spice trading companies, wholesalers, and food manufacturers internationally. Any buyer — regardless of scale or country — is welcome to enquire. We will respond honestly about what we can and cannot supply.

Our focus is depth over breadth. For the products we actively export, we know the sourcing region, variety selection, ASTA and SHU specifications, post-harvest processing, moisture control, and export documentation in detail. We do not list products we have not sourced and qualified.

Our Sourcing Regions

Each chilli variety we export comes from a specific growing region with distinct climate, soil, and varietal characteristics that determine its ASTA colour and SHU heat profile.

Byadagi — Haveri & Dharwad, Karnataka

The Haveri and Dharwad districts of northern Karnataka produce India's highest-colour chilli variety. Byadagi holds a Geographical Indication (GI) tag and is prized by food manufacturers globally for its deep mahogany-red pigment (ASTA 130–170) and very mild heat (SHU 8,000–15,000). The Kaddi sub-variety has the highest colour extraction value and is the primary export grade. Byadagi is the dominant feedstock for oleoresin extraction and natural food colouring applications.

Kashmiri Chilli — Kashmir Valley

Kashmiri chilli is grown at high altitude in the Kashmir Valley, where cool temperatures and low humidity allow capsanthin and capsorubin pigments to develop fully. The result is a vibrant red chilli (ASTA 100–140) with near-zero pungency (SHU 1,000–2,000) — the lowest heat of any major Indian variety. It is internationally recognised as a clean-label natural colourant and is the defining ingredient in tandoori marinades, Rogan Josh, and restaurant-style gravies where colour consistency matters more than heat.

Guntur Sannam S4 — Andhra Pradesh

Guntur district is India's largest chilli-producing region and the home of Sannam S4 (334), a GI-registered variety that accounts for a significant share of India's chilli exports. Sannam is grown across Guntur, Prakasam, Warangal, and Khammam districts and is characterised by long pods (5–15 cm), thick red skin, and consistent pungency of 35,000–40,000 SHU. Its balanced heat and moderate colour (ASTA 40–80) make it the standard choice for curry powders, pickles, and spice blends requiring reliable, predictable pungency.

Guntur Teja S17 — Andhra Pradesh & Telangana

Teja S17 is the highest-pungency variety in the Indian export trade, delivering 50,000–100,000 SHU with moderate colour (ASTA 40–70). It is grown across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and is valued primarily for its capsaicin yield — making it the dominant feedstock for hot sauce manufacturing, oleoresin extraction, and pharmaceutical capsaicin concentrate production. Buyers typically blend Teja with Byadagi or Kashmiri to achieve custom SHU and ASTA targets in finished products.
